The Imagination Library of Bartholomew County is dedicated to fostering a love of reading in young children. Through our program, every child under the age of five in Bartholomew County, regardless of household income, receives 60 age-appropriate books, mailed directly to their homes, by the time they enter kindergarten. We aim to improve early literacy rates and ensure that every child starts school with the foundational skills they need for academic success.
Planting Seeds of Knowledge in Bartholomew County
ORGANIZATION HISTORY
The Imagination Library of Bartholomew County was founded in 2023 in response to a critical need to address low literacy rates among incoming Kindergartners. In just a short time, our organization has grown to serve over 1,800 children, providing them with a strong foundation for academic success through the simple yet powerful gift of reading.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
Our program provides free books to infants and preschoolers across Bartholomew County, embracing every child's right to literacy, regardless of their race, gender, creed, disability, nationality, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background. By offering books that reflect diverse lives and experiences, we help children build empathy and foster connections with people of different races, genders, cultures, and languages.
